An old favorite with a current menu. I enjoyed the shrimp and scallop risotto immensely. Highly recommend. Super friendly staff. The lodge feel of the dining room fits the wooded locations near Gunpowder State Park.

After years of living in the area and driving past, I went to Gunpowder lodge for weekend brunch buffet for the first time. Definitely a wide selection. Decent breakfast. Love the meat carving and waffle station. The place was packed and we sat at the bar. Service there was great. Bottomless drinks with brunch is not for me. Would go back and try dinner.

Meat loaf was delicious. The service was very good. Casual but clean and not noisy. My friend had the ribs and she said they were delicious.

Monday is a crab cake special. It was done well. The fries were good but the Mac n cheese was lacking. My wife like her quesadilla. The waitress was good. As for the ambiance it was ok. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. Don't let its appearance stop you from enjoying a good meal.

My boyfriend and I stopped here after a full day of hiking. There were only a few other people there so it was nice and quiet. We ordered the crab cake sandwich. Our waitress came over to let us know there was a delay with the meal so our drinks would be comped. The sandwiches were well worth the extra wait. The crab cake was huge and tasted amazing. The handmade chips were delicious. We would definitely come back here again despite living an hour south.

I was quite impressed with this place. We were recommended it recently and wanted to try. It has a mountain cabin vibe to it. You can sit at a table or you can sit at the bar. During the warmer weather I noticed they have outdoor seating as well. The service was quick, our waitress was lovely. She was attentive and very nice. We ordered the lodge stew, which was on the specials menu and it was so good. It had such a good flavor of roast beef in it. And the bread on the side made it that much better. The shrimp and grits looked and tasted great! Beautiful presentation. The fries were a little floppy but everything else was so good. The crushes were tasty as well. Loved it.

Came here with my mom for the first time in years. Our server, Carmen, was friendly and attentive. We ordered the crab dip as an appetizer and it did not disappoint! The pretzel was soft and the crab dip was very creamy. For entrees, we got The Bull and IPA pasta with a side house salad. The Bull was great. The pasta was good but the sauce could have used a bit more flavor. Portions here are large!! Even the side house salad was almost a full meal. We ended up taking half of the sandwich and pasta home. The Orioles game was on while we were here and the place got loud (we didn't mind) so don't come here expecting a quiet dinner!

We were meeting the Harley Owners Group for a social gathering at the Gunpowder Lodge. There were 38 of us in attendance. Matty, our server, was absolutely amazing. How she managed to keep all of our orders straight is beyond me. Aside from the noise level, we enjoyed ourselves. For our drinks, we had Chardonnay Wine, Natty Bo Beer and a Diet Coke; plus a pitcher of water on the table. My husband had Mike's Meatloaf. He is a bit of a meatloaf connoisseur. Mike's was a blend of ground beef and pork wrapped in bacon and topped with tomato gravy. It was served with garlic mashed potatoes and one additional side. My husband chose the Cole slaw. Was he pleased? You bet he was - he cleaned his plate. Our grandson ordered the Char-Grilled Wings hot, and they were! They came with celery and blue cheese. I decided on the Turkey Avocado Wrap, which had oven roasted turkey, melted provolone, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard. It was a change for me. Most Turkey Avocado Wraps I have had are cold, and this one was served warm, and it was delicious. It came with house chips. It appeared that everyone at our table were pleased with their meals and the service. Matty, thank you for taking such good care of us!
